Our day trip to Hunting Island State Park - dogs included

On Saturday our family went on an adventure to Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina, just up the road near Beaufort. It takes about an hour and a half to drive there, but the real adventure for us was that we took our two dogs along for the ride, which is something we don't normally do.

Tomato thief on the loose

There is a thief on the loose in my yard, stealing tomatoes when no one is looking. Trouble is... I know who she is. Her name is Lucy, and she is my dog, an impish brown boxer mix with a taste for fresh veggies.

In our previous gardens, Lucy always went for the green peppers. We hardly got any ourselves. It's been a few years now without a garden. But this year we decided to try it again, leaving out the peppers that we never get to eat.
