Finding the cause of the strange, bad smell in my daughter's room

by Traci Schumacher on Fri, 02/15/2013 - 11:49am

Yesterday I discovered the source of the strange, foul smell we had been noticing on and off in my daughter's room. It was an elusive odor, faint but definitely bad. My husband even suggested there might be a small dead animal in hiding.

Sunday morning we found ourselves in the usual last-minute crunch to get out the door and try to make it to church on time (or at least close to it). That's when I noticed my 6-year-old son was missing in action. I couldn't find him in the house, and he didn't answer when I called.

Having a dog in the family is almost like having another child. Sure, you can leave them alone for extended periods of time and they don't have much of a social life, but they do require considerable time, effort, and financial support. In our family, we have three human children and two canines.

Savannah's non-emergency customer service line, 311, for animal
complaints.

Use of the 311 system should provide a more efficient
response when reporting animal cruelty, dogs at large, tethered dogs,
and to request traps, said Savannah-Chatham metro police spokeswoman
Gena Moore.

Weight loss is
tough for anyone—two- or four-legged. However, losing weight and getting
in shape not only add years to your pet’s life, but they also make those
extra years more enjoyable. Helping your cuddly canine or feline shed a few
pounds may be easier than you think. It simply requires understanding the
importance of weight loss and fitness, paying attention to detail, and seeking
assistance from your veterinary team.

As a local veterinarian with two small children (daughter is 6 and son is 3) I understand the questions and concerns that parents have regarding the interaction between children and pets. When I was contacted by Coastal Mommies to be the Coastal Veterinarian, I thought, "What a great idea!"
