Check out the local chapter's auction for the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy. The auction begins beginning of October, so make your decisions on what to bid for now!

Azelle Photography is donating a session and a ...storybook - your very own fairy tale! Perfect for the season! However, many  more items are available for bids. Beautiful cause to contribute to!

I love this photo by Charity Miles.

Even though this is a website for moms, every now and then we like to give a little shout-out to dads.

I went to fun party last weekend

Local folk-painting artist Panhandle Slim had art on the walls of the Hangfire bar last Saturday night.

The venue was non-smoking and the floors were scrubbed clean for the dozens of children who attended the fundraising art event.

The show was a benefit for local autism group Generation Rescue - donated food and prizes were raffled off from the door admission tickets.

I've been to some other kid-friendly events at the Hangfire - so I was already over the shock of being in a bar with my little son.

What to do this weekend

by MamaPowers on Thu, 03/05/2009 - 1:08pm

I'm a lucky mama: my son likes broccoli and collard greens. The broccoli he likes to dip in "Arkan-sauce" (ranch) like his daddy. The collard greens he likes boiled down with a piece of salty ham.

Collard-loving family that we are, we are planning on attending this year's Collard Green festival outside Port Wentworth, GA.
