On our summer vacation to the North Carolina mountains, our family was on a quest to encounter waterfalls. By the second day, we had not yet seen one, and the kids were starting to get restless. So we set out in the afternoon in search of Bridal Veil Falls armed with maps and smart phones.

Cell Phone GPS Girl told us where to turn to reach our desired destination. Only none of us knew the final road to the falls would be closed, as it apparently cuts straight through someone's private property.

You know the drill. You buy your kids a treat while you're at the mall and five minutes later they're begging for something more. Or you let each child have a turn at something and still someone complains that their turn was shorter than someone else's.

Kids seem to be always wanting more. Never satisfied. Always comparing and wanting things to be exactly the same and “fair.” (They're an awful lot like adults at times, aren't they?)
