Camping with Kids

Are there any moms or families who enjoy camping??

We are fairly new tent campers who enjoy camping in the Savannah area.  We have camped twice now and are getting better each time we go!!  We learn something new and realized we need this item and don't 5 of the other items I did bring.

But, we are looking for other Moms and Families who are interested in camping in the Spring and Early Summer (we tent camp so no summer camping for us) we are Fair WEather campers...

Kayaking Families

Are there any kayaking families in the area??

I really want to get out on the water with my girls ages 11 and 8. We are brand new and will be trying out some lakes in the spring and are looking for tips on what type of car carrier system is the most reasonably priced and a good quality. Then we hope to find some other families who are kayaking as well. Thanks

Funny New Words To Describe Kids

Have you noticed that your kids exhibit traits, behaviors and ideals that the dictionary lacks words to describe? I have. SO i made up words to describe them.

For instance: A child who refuses to cooperate for the family photograph is a KODICK.

a DRINKLE is the liquid burst emitted from the little straw when your kid squeezes their juicebox too tightly.

Local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Groups

What is MOPS? Mothers of Preschoolers is about meeting the needs of moms - urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single and married moms and is for every mom, from conception through kindergarten. It's being moms that brings us together - and wanting to be the very best moms we can be. The early years of being a mom are just as foundational to you as they are to your baby, and they're filled with unique needs that other moms instinctively understand.

Live Oak Summer Reading Program info

I was at the Southwest Chatham Library the other day and picked up some information on the Summer Reading Program and thought I would share with you what I found! The goal of the program is to keep children reading throughout the summer -- whether it's books from their home or from school reading lists.
