Potty training for infants

by Traci S on Tue, 07/03/2012 - 2:13pm

What is the best age to start potty training? Some people would say infancy. Infant potty training or “elimination communication,” while certainly more prevalent in non-western cultures, does have a definite following in the United States.

Potty chair or no potty chair - that is the question

by Traci S on Thu, 09/15/2011 - 10:37pm

I have a little potty chair for my 2-year-old to use at home. I have heard some people say they would never get a potty chair. They think it's an unnecessary extra step, and it's kinda gross to have to empty out the pot. Okay, I can see that.

Life without a diaper bag

Isn't it funny how the smaller the child is, the bigger their toys and accessories are (think exersaucer vs ipod)? With an infant, you get to carry around a “portable” car seat plus diaper bag containing everything (pacifiers, diapers, change of clothes, toys, snacks, etc). Gradually, little by little, you get to downsize and simplify.

Potty trained in 3 days or less: priceless!

by Traci S on Wed, 06/15/2011 - 3:05pm

The past week has been a busy and exciting one at our house... my daughter lost a front tooth, my big kids started their summer swim lessons, my 5-year-old son learned to ride without training wheels, and I potty trained my 2-year-old in 3 days!

I found the “3 Day Potty Training” method by Lora Jensen (www.3daypottytraining.com) online a few years ago when I was trying to potty train my older son. He was nearly 3 years old at the time, and was potty trained by the second day.

Mommies of Multiples

I have a PR friend that I help out from time to time with information and research. A magazine she represents, Parents and Kids Magazine, is going to do a feature on 'potty training multiples,' they are seeking expert advice/tips from authors, pediatricians, educators and parents on
successful toileting techniques. Potty training twins, triplets, quads,
etc. is much more complicated than a singleton, so looking for sage counsel
for parents of multiples. If your interested shoot her an email
