As I marvel over my 6 week old I know that she will grow up faster than I would like. She's in diapers now but before I know it I will be dropping her off for her first day of school. I am making a point to savor every moment. I feel like I missed so much with my son......... I was younger then and didn't fully understand that you can NEVER press rewind. Take lots of pictures and video, because the mind forgets. My son is a big boy, 6! Although I try to protect him from everything, I can't, my worst enemy.....television. I limit the amount of boob tube I allow him to watch......I am embarrassed to say about 4hrs a week. But I feel that it's in his best interest. After seeing the new and improved Dora I realize that I'm right. Between Hannah Montana the Jonas Brothers, Adult Swim and Saturday morning commercials I know the only option is PBS kids! I thought Nick Jr. was ok! Am I wrong?
I know what some may think she has to grow up right?
Well consider this:
Dora was born when her show pilot aired in 1999 she's bilingual and can read, I would guess that she was 7 or 9 years old. Fast forward to her recent make over 10 years later.....that makes Dora
17 or 18!!!!!
Not to say that I wouldn't hire a 18 year old as a baby sitter but am I wrong for not wanting my 6 year old boy following the social interaction of an 18 year old on a daily basis?
