Hi!  My name is Jennifer, and I decided to start this group to connect with other moms (or other family members) who have a child that was born with a CHD. 

My son, Michael, was born with Tetralogy of Fallot and had open heart surgery to repair his defects when he was 6 months old.  His surgery was done at Hershey Medical Center.  We are from Pennsylvania and just moved to Savannah a few months ago.  I volunteered with a support group at Hershey Medical Center and know how it encouraged and touched our family to be a part of a support group.  I would like to start a similar group here in Savannah.  Once we are settled into a house, I would like to contact local hospitals to get in touch with more families. 

Michael is now 11 years old and has been a huge encouragement to so many families.  He was actively involved in the support group in Hershey and gave more hope than I ever could to other parents.  He is always open to answering questions and is testimony to the fact that these heart babies are resilient and can lead a mostly normal, active life!

Share your story on here so we can encourage each other and give each other hope!  Post any questions or concerns you have with your children and we can all do our best to answer questions/concerns or lead each other in the right direction to getting answers. 

We could also plan some activities so our children can meet other children who are like them.
