For moms in Savannah and the Coastal Empire

Live Oak Summer Reading Program info

I was at the Southwest Chatham Library the other day and picked up some information on the Summer Reading Program and thought I would share with you what I found! The goal of the program is to keep children reading throughout the summer -- whether it's books from their home or from school reading lists.

How it works: Children who read or are read to for a total of 15 hours and fill out a Splashtastic Reading Log from June 1 through August 15 will be eligible for prizes! The Splashtastic Reading Log needs to be filled out and turned into your library branch by August 15 to qualify.

How to keep track of your hours: Pick up a copy of the "Splashtastic Reading Log" at any of the Live
Oak branches.

If you complete another 15 hours: Turn in the reading log and you will receive a VIP pass to the 2010 Savannah Children's Book Festival and you will also be featured in the Savannah Morning News!

The prizes: On August 20 each branch will have two prize drawings for one $20 Barnes & Noble gift card and one $50 Applebee's gift card. A grand prize drawing will take place on August 25 and one person from each county will receive one $150 Savannah Mall gift certificate.
