Time To Start Planning For Father's Day

Time To Start Planning For Father's Day

Father's Day is a little more than a week away and it is time to start putting together your gifts for dad.  Out of curiousity I asked my dad what his best gift was. This was his response. "The best Fathers Day gift is the gift of love, to know that your children love and respect you. There is no gift that can be purchased at the store that can replace that. The worst, I guess the worst would be to know that you did not get that love and respect. Tough question."

Ok so where does this leave us in planning for dad's special day.  If I understand what my dad is trying to say is that our daily love and admiration is what he wants the most.  But for Father's Day, let me make some suggestions.  Keep it simple and inexpensive.  That is unless dad has dropped hints of a particular item that he needs or wants.

We start Father's Day off with breakfast in bed and homemade cards and gifts. After lunch- dad's choice, we simply spend time with dad. Ending the day with dad's favorite dinner.  I was looking around for some unique craft ideas and found them at www.familyfun.go.com.  My personnal favorite is the wallet sized photo card.  A super idea for Grandpa and dad.

Whatever the idea I am sure dad will appreciate and enjoy it.  Remember to keep it fun, simple, and personalized.

Happy Father's Day to my husband and father.

We love you!

Father's Day Gift

It is truely difficult to buy something for the man who has everything. For my brother's 50th birthday I got him 50 packs of gum. He laughed and thought it was a great idea.  I also find that lottery tickets are fun. Cooking his favorite meal or just spending time together is a great gift that has a priceless gifttag to it. My grandmother always said that she never wanted anything from us, but we all knew better. A card and a small something is a simple way to say "I Love You" and I value you in my life.

Father's Day

I've been trying to figure out what to get my dad. What do you get the man who has everything? I really don't think he'd care if I didn't get anything. But I would feel guilty if I didn't! Past holidays and birthdays tell me that he won't use whatever I get him!!!
