Go Fly a Kite!
“I’m bored!” is the most annoying thing my kids can tell me…wait, maybe its “I’m hungry”. But usually when they say the latter they really mean the previous! So far, I have kept the girls relatively busy and I have not heard the dreaded words. I am prepared…just in case. I came across an easy project (on pinterest of course!) and finished it before the older girls were out of school. I use it with my summer display, so it is both decorative and functional :)
Here is where I got my inspiration…. http://www.shabbybeachnest.com/101-idea-im-bored-jar/ . She has a lot of great ideas (with printables)…I couldn’t get them to print the right size for my popsicle sticks and I didn’t want to waste a ton of paper so I just cut my paper in strips and mod podged them on the sticks. After they dried, I used a sharpie and wrote down the ideas. I up cycled a tin can and already had the wide popsicle sticks and scrap paper on hand. I had some cute kite paper that I used for the popsicle sticks and cloud paper for the can. So instead of seeing “I’m bored” every time I walk past the jar, I thought it would be cute to label it “Go fly a kite!”. Even the girls have caught on and ask if they can go fly a kite instead of telling me that horrible phrase!
