Oktoberfest on the River
Oct. 5-7, River Street. The Savannah Riverfront invites you and your family to come and celebrate the 29th Annual Oktoberfest. More than 50 arts & crafts vendors will line the riverfront featuring everything from jewelry and ceramics to children’s clothing and home décor and accessories. There will be multiple beverage stations featuring Coca-Cola products and a variety of beer and wine. Tybee Island Pirate Fest
Oct. 4-7, Tybee Island. The 8th Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest brings swashbucklers of all ages to the island paradise. Motley Crue frontman Vince Niel will be the headliner at a 7 p.m. Oct. 6 concert. The festivities will kick off with the coronation of the king and queen at the Buccaneer’s Ball at the Crab Shack on Oct. 4. Additional highlights for the 2012 Tybee Island Pirate Festival include The Pirate Victory Parade, Scallywags Costume Contest, Little Matey’s Cove, Thieves Market and the new Pirate Pub with live music. Toys-For-Tots Concert
Oct. 6, all-day event, Randy Woods Guitars, Bloomingdale. Randy Woods Guitars & West Chatham Det. 1326 of the Marine Corps League will be holding their 4th annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys-For-Tots Concert, Car and Motorcycle Show. 2012 Buddy Walk
10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 6, Forsyth Park. The 2012 Buddy Walk will be held on Oct. 6 at Forsyth Park. Thousands of people are expected to attend the event, which raises awareness and funds for local programs, including Camp Buddy, that benefit people with Down syndrome and their families. Savannah’s own Paula Deen will serve as Grand Marshal. A Family Fun Festival begins immediately following the walk. The Festival will feature a variety of activities. Registration forms for the walk are available online at or sign-up starting at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event. Registration is $12 per person or $40 for a family of four. Savannah Tire Flyin’ Pig BBQ and Music Festival 
11 a.m.-9 p.m. Oct. 6, Oglethorpe Speedway Park, Pooler. The Savannah Tire Flyin’ Pig BBQ & Music Festival will feature a BBQ contest, live entertainment, general and specialty merchandise for sale, rock climbing wall, super slide and other attractions, non-BBQ food items and more.
