World Habitat Day
Oct. 13, Habitat ReStore, 1900 East Victory Drive. Habitat for Humanity Savannah will kick off its annual campaign with a celebration of World Habitat Day. The public is invited to attend, to enjoy, and to give so that Habitat can build the most important place in Savannah – a home for a family in need. A “ReStore How-To-Clinic,” which starts at 10 a.m., will show participants how to jump start those home repair projects. The “Children’s Arts & Crafts Clinic,” which starts at noon, will encourage kids to use materials and their imagination to craft their dream house. These free workshops will occur at the Habitat ReStore. Habitat Savannah invites families to visit the “Pumpkin Patch Festival.” Olde Savannah Garden and Produce, sited at the corners of Montgomery Crossroad and Marcus Place, will host the festival which starts at 11. The Festival offers an old-fashioned afternoon of free activities including a bouncy house, free face painting, pumpkin decorating, and a petting zoo. Olde Savannah will donate a portion of each pumpkin sold during the month of October to Habitat Savannah. For more information, call 912-353-8122.
