My daughter came home from school upset yesterday. It seems her BFF told her she didn't want to be friends any more. My heart sank.

Upon further questioning, I discovered that this friend had created a club that involved a lot of running every day. In the past the girls have created clubs together with different themes that direct how and what they play at recess. But my daughter didn't want to do all the running, so she made up a club of her own. And the battle lines were drawn.

I could see how they each had gotten their feelings hurt. I advised my daughter to apologize to her friend for hurting her feelings, and to explain that she just didn't want to do all the running. Maybe the club could be changed a little. Maybe she could run some anyway. Maybe it wouldn't even be an issue by this morning. This afternoon I'll find out if the friendship has been restored.

Drama. That's the thing about girls. Boys are more active, but girls have more drama!
