Lovely Ladies & Exercise Balance

Dear Lovely Mommie,

Quite often women find themselves in a position where it is full steam ahead in the workout department or not much vapor at all which just doesn’t seem to create feelings of poise or stability when it comes to a healthy physical agenda.

For instance, lots of times exercise may fall by the wayside with the hustle and bustle of your life and the on goings that just can’t be avoided. Then one day you wake up, take a look at yourself in the mirror, perhaps the skirt didn’t button the way you had hoped or the pants are a tad too snug and then boom, you hit the exercise with vengeance.  It’s times like these where balance needs to come knocking at your door.  There is absolutely no need to be all or nothing in the workout department.  Swinging the pendulum from one end of the spectrum where doing zero physical activity for weeks, months or even years is the norm; then flipping that proverbial switch to where you drink, eat and sleep activity is a surefire way to set yourself up for repeating an unfavorable pattern of behavior.

So what’s the key to balance?   How do you foster it’s presence in your everyday life?  Let’s take a gander at some sensible steps that you can initiate into your life that promote the act of steadiness, encourage a balance and support the continuation of exercise in your life.

~Set realistic goals for your week and don’t overload your days.

~Keep in mind that some form of movement is better than zero and promotes consistency.

~Have a supportive wardrobe that emits confidence and motivates you to get moving.

~Call on a friend to help you stay on track and encourage rational continuity.

~Schedule yourself into your calendar, blackberry, or whatever mode of organization you use to arrange your day plan and promote awareness.

~Notify family and friends of your health and wellness goals and ask for their support.

~Believe in your ability to change your past unproductive patterns of behavior and alter your course to one that is what you are searching for.

~Keep a journal to remind yourself of where you have been, what you have accomplished and where you intend on going.  To be aware is truly priceless and extremely rewarding.

It’s amazing how full force or not you may get sometimes and when you sit back to think about what happened you can visualize yourself repeating the same pattern which often is the cause for your downfall.  It’s up to you to create a lifestyle that is supportive of your goals.  Take control of your future and make yourself proud of how powerful you can be!
